EDITOR'S NOTE: On March 26, 2021, a hedge fund called Archaegos defaulted, causing around $10 billion in losses, spread across several large banks both in and outside of the U.S. In light of this collapse, the Federal Reserve sent out a warning to banks about engaging in “practices that may be inconsistent with safe and sound banking practices.” This video takes a deep dive into the intricacies of the Fed and banking policies and practices that allowed this to happen and call “BS” on the Fed’s slap-on-the-wrist to the banking industry when, according to the narrator, it is the Fed’s fault, to begin with.
