EDITOR NOTE: A former US Comptroller recently made a statement that America’s national debt threatens its international standing. Sure, that’s a reasonable thing to say. Perhaps a bit too obvious? Depending on your political, social, or economic proclivities, there are many things that have occurred over the last year that smack of American vulnerability, or even weakness. The inability for most Americans to distinguish simple things such as the frequency of positive payoff from the weight of ruin, fiscal power from monetary monopoly, and currency from money is something that uncovers the common myopia that plagues the public.
